I have been noticing that when the world gets a bit (or a lot) loud, I am drawn to the skies. As I walked out of this house this afternoon, I noticed the brilliant golden skies in the west showcasing the setting sun, and then I glanced up to see the waxing moon glowing so brightly overhead.

The sun and the moon are constant.
They have been in the skies for longer than we can fathom, and go through predictable cycles, watching over us, lighting out paths, guiding us through good times and through challenges.
The sun and the moon have been cycling across the skies through all the moments of mayhem and chaos of the past — the very same moon and the very same sun. They have also been there lighting up the skies in the most magical moments filled with miracles through the years.
I noticed myself feeling comforted by this knowing today. No matter what chaos or unpredictability might be going on in the world around me (around all of us), the sun and the moon remain constant.
And they add magical beauty, as they fill our skies will brilliant shades and colours. Today, I also noticed the changing colours of the skies. Each blend of colours only present for a brief moment in time - from purples and pinks towards more oranges and finally light yellowish-pink hues below the vast expanse of blue. What a gift to be able to see and experience the rich array of colours that nature offers! These moments of beauty also fill my heart and soul with comfort - what a privilege to witness these miraculous moments.

The evening the shades in the sky provided different deeper and darker tones, that exuded more mystery. With all the clouds in the sky, there was more texture adding visual intrigue to the expansive vista filling the entire canvas of the sky. After living on the Prairies for over twenty years, I still find it incredible how long dusk can last in all seasons (more so in the summer months). Even in the shorter winter days, the sky is still full of colour and brightness 45 minutes after the sun has officially set (in the 2nd photo below).

Noticing the expansive and colourful skies today both comforted me, and felt incredibly expansive. The open skies are full of possibility, and in every moment the sky offered new artwork and beauty through the ever shifting clouds and colours. The background maybe be always changing, and still there is a constancy of the cycles and presence of the sun and the moon.
As I marvelled and basked in the grandeur of the skies, my heart felt full. I was reminded of a short video I watched by British astrology Pam Gregory today, which she titled simply “Love More Loudly”, as she shared encouragement and an alternative to all the polarizing rhetoric to instead shift our focus to “love more loudly.” When I take in moments of the sky today, my heart feels more full of love, and I have more capacity to love more loudly for everyone living under this same big sky!
From my heart to yours, I’m sending you love, and hope you feel comforted and loved today (Plus a few songs that share these messages too!)
