There is a tree that I noticed by the soccer field, that reminds me of the Robert Frost poem, “The Road Not Taken” (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44272/the-road-not-taken).
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
~ Robert Frost
It seems as though the path of the growth of the trunk diverged early, almost as though it became two or even three tree trunks that began to intertwine, both embracing each other and growing in different directions.
The twisting trunk of this tree almost looks like the one part of the trunk grew to embrace and support the other part so that they could both continue growing upwards… almost like they are dancing and dipping each other.
There is such movement in this tree, and I can almost imagine it coming to life, with faces and movement (when no one is watching, of course!).
Did it begin as two trees or one, and I’m so curious as I move around to all sides of the tree - each angle creating more curiosity and questions!

… and then the large trunk diverges into two more significant limbs, and this is the part that reminds me of “two paths diverging”, and I love the line in the poem, “long I stood”, as I can feel that pause to ponder and consider, which path to take.
This tree could have likely fallen over early, had the two trunks not chosen to grow in support of each other, and that pattern - is an example of a road less travelled which has made all the difference!
Sitting with this tree today, has inspired me to ponder the various roads less travelled that I have chosen, after pause and reflection, and each has made all the difference!
