As the winds blew with great gusto today, it was likely Mother Earth might be trying to get my (our) attention.
Beckoning, calling, inviting.
I noticed some ferns slowly unfurling, to me… witnessing the ferns in this process is the epitome of spring, and of the magic of new life slowly emerging from our collective shared mother, Gaia, Mother Earth.

While Mother’s Day is a beautiful celebration for many, it can be painful for those who have recently lost a mother, who have mourned not becoming a mother, or those who have experienced pain or heartache with a mother or mothering figure.
As I noticed the ferns today, and stood on the ground with the earth beneath my feet, as I dug in the garden, feeling the soil between my fingers, I felt the love, care and support of Mother Earth.
Perhaps this Mother’s Day is an invitation to focus our love and attention on Mother Earth, our shared Mother, the Mother that unites us all.
Perhaps, this Mother’s Day, we might consider celebrating the Earth as our Mother, this unifies each and every one of us!
As I pondered, how might I honour and celebrate Mother Earth?
I considered a few ways…
… spending time with her,
… nourishing her,
… caring for her,
… showing love for her,
… expressing love for her
… expressing gratitude.
I’m certain there are more, but this Mother’s Day, as I spend time outdoors I will be finding ways to celebrate Mother Earth. I celebrate Mother Earth for her constant presence, support, nurturing, and being there for us always, even when we ignore her or don't treat her well.
How amazing would it be if we all recommitted to supporting Mother Earth, and healing her with more nourishing practices, caring for her and checking in regularly…
As I stood in an open field, with my feet firmly grounded on the Earth, feel love emanating up through my feet, I gazed upwards to noticed the sun streaming down. Love is all around us, beckoning, calling, inviting us to receive.
May you feel full of that love today.
