Sometimes it seems as though Mother Nature offers solace and comfort through embodying the emotions we might collectively be feeling and sensing…
… today the weather was extremely unsettled, overcast, with a faint rumbling of thunder frequently erupting throughout the day. The clouds moving swiftly across the sky, as the winds blew through, beckoning a new way forward - a pleading prayer for peace.
… as I felt the tears prickle at front of my eyes, on the verge of overflowing, so too did the clouds in the sky feel full of moisture, on the verge of opening… heavy with grief and compassion for our hurting world.
It took awhile for the skies to open, and for Mother Nature to release her tears for humanity, crying with a steady stream of sadness. As the cleansing rains fell, my tears for humanity fell also… along with a pleading prayer for peace and love.
I feel immense gratitude for the safety within the walls of my home, and found solace in creating and connecting. I joined my children in their search for Lego pieces to re-create structures and creations that had been forgotten or demolished in the past, and together we found the pieces and re-built what was broken… symbolic of our hope and prayers for the world, to re-build what is broken.
We created with Perler beads, new creations of comfort, colour and the focus on connecting these small individual beads together - fused with the heat of an iron, bringing each of these unique pieces together to create something more beautiful than each individual piece alone… for me, into a comforting, warm mug of coffee:)
Though the storm raged outside, we found ways to release emotions, explore our creativity, create comfort (we made chocolate ice cream) and collectively sent our love into the world through these stormy and tumultuous times.

Writing about a time I felt my mood reflected in nature, and vice versa…
Or when the weather didn’t seem to fit the mood…
